• Mesa Studio .22

I want to recommend this amp again to anybody looking for a pure clean or vintage rock guitar tone. Match this baby up to a 2 x 12 or a 4 x 12 and the tone is unmatched by any other amp I have ever owned. For clean blues, jazz or country to vintage rock ala: Aerosmith, Rush, Kiss, Zep, Nugent, it has a beautiful tone. The other nice thing about a Studio 22 is that if you don't like it you could usually sell it for the same or more than you paid for it at any time. I have owned many Boogies and it is my favorite.

The .50's aren't bad either, at least the EL84 ones. Cranked up, they have just enough gain IMHO to play 80s metal, but you couldn't do any death metal or cookie monster vocal stuff.

Very cool amps--one of my favorites for recording.
