soundcards

I don't know if this is the right place to put this thread but I will try. I just bought a soundblaster soundcard (it is not an internal unit, it mounts seperate, I got it from walmart) and everything works great except the mic-in and headphone's, does anybody have any idea's or suggestions on what is wrong? I would check your settings. Mabey the mike and phones are set low or off. (it is tough to say without seeing the setup)
