Today I was walking past a pawn shop and I saw an old Ampeg in the window. I went inside and I found out it was a VT-22 with a V-4 cabinet. From what I've found on Harmony Central they were made in the late sixties and early seventies. This amp did look that old, but I didn't plug it in to see if it worked. The sticker on it said $400, but maybe I can talk them down some. I think that was for th head and cabinet. On Harmony Central they just go on and on about how LOUD it is, which is fine by me. I am going to go back to the shop and take another look at it based on what I've learned from H-C. Anyone here have any experience with these things? I am not looking for a metal tone from it, I want a POWERFUL doom tone. I was thinking I could maybe try and find an old Univox Superfuzz to put in front of it.
