Has anyone played one? I am in the market for a 5-10 watt lightweight tube combo for church band practice. I don't need high gain, just clean and a slight overdrive.

I was going to buy a Fender Pro Jr. and replace the speaker and tubes. However, that would add up to the same as one of the Reverend Goblin 5-15s. They look like fairly well made amps, plus they come with a 14 day free trial. Almost too good to pass up. No sound clips, though.

Any thoughts on their amps or any other that might fit my bill?

I've got a Fender Pro Jr. and love it. I love a Celestion Vintage 10 in them. I actually got rid of a Pro jr. and went through a few other things and ended up buying a Pro Jr. again.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

For something light and a good sound... what about a Fender silverface Champ and an overdrive pedal?

It's funny that you mention that one, Pete. I bought a silverface Vibro Champ and sent it to Trace to mod it. He is installing the Witchdoctor circuit in it. Should have it next week.

I will just use that if it cleans up well.

Tim, did you replace the tubes in your Pro Jr? If so, what tubes did you put in?

Fritz, I owned a voodoo-modded champ with the witchdoctor. Killer little highgain amp. To be honest, I never tried it with cleans.

Your twisteramp come in yet?

Hey Pete,

It was delivered to my office after I left yesterday afternoon. I am off work watching my daughter the next 4 days but am going to pop in and snag it tomorrow morning.

I'll get it fired up and give ya a full report tomorrow evening.

What does the Witchdoctor circuit do & who makes it?

I had a modded silver face Champ before & I really regret parting with it.

The Witchdoctor is a custom high gain amp built by Trace at Voodoo Amps. He will also install a modified Witchdoctor circuit in certain amps.

Here is a clip:

For the price of new Fender Pro Jr., I couldn't pass this one up:

Torres Modded Champ

Thanks for the idea, Pete!

Fritz,

That's what I had.....with the Torres mod & mine had a Kendrick blackframe speaker.
I think you'll be pleased.

The clip of that witchdoctor sounds incredible.
