I have one and the tone is VERY HEAVY. In fact, too heavy for me. I just put it up on eBay.

Weird, I never heard an SE amp clip I liked as much as what I have heard of the 570 preamp. The preamp seems crunchier... Your thoughts?

I would be hard pressed to give you an honest opinion. The only E570 clip I have heard is the one on the Rock Solid Amp site. Just listening to that clip I would have to agree with you. I have not gotten that kind of tone from my SE but then again I never really tried as I like my tone a little tighter along the lines of his Leper Messiah clips. I could probably get a crunchier tone if I worked at it. There is just way to many knobs and buttons on this amp. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] Where did you find your clips of the E570? I would like to listen to a few more.

Both were recorded direct to pc using a V-amp2 for cab sim so it sounded halfway decent. So far I'm very happy with this preamp, and it will for sure be used for all the guitar tracks on our next CD.
