• Pod 2.0

After hearing that Maiden Influenced song by Rune, I want to get a Pod.

I have some questions.

Can it take bass or will it blow up?

Does it play the sound out of the speakers/headphones when you record?

Can it do a good job with microphone recording if you set the pod to a clean mode?

Can the XT do the same and more?

Thanks

Mike

Why don't you just get a Bass POD?

because I play guitar and don't want to buy a bass pod. its just for tracks.

Why not just use a DI for the bass? And yes, the POD will work for bass. It sounds alright if you mix with a DI. The J-Station will work too. I've always ran the bass direct with a compressor and that works out fine.

Re: Pod 2.0

The POD XT can do more, but to me it doesn't cut it for metal sounds. Even if you load patches from your 2.0 into XT, it will sound different because they changed the mic models or something...I actually had sold my first 2.0 to get a XT, but I had to return the XT and buy a new 2.0...talk about a letdown.
But of course, the XT can do lots of other stuff that the 2.0 can't, but for me the simplicity of use and overall better metal sounds in the 2.0 made the decision easy for me. You can do a search and you'll find several threads about 2.0 vs XT.
PS. you can run a bass guitar through them both, no problem.

good luck,

- Rune.
