If I were to replace the 6L6s in my Powerball, can I just use any 4 matched 6L6s or would they have to be Engl tubes? Also does anyone know how to get to the fuse from the little back compartment for the Powerball?

Re: Engl tubes
I recently e-mailed Derek from Rock Solid Amps (where I got my head) about new tubes for my Engl Blackmore head, and he said that any matched set would be fine. I specifically asked if I should use Engl tubes, but he said it wasn't necessary.

call the guy at www.eurotubes.com he will know the questions to ask you to get the perfect matched set for your head. and his prices are great!

Re: Engl tubes
I have heard that if you use the ENGL branded tubes with the same rating # as the stock tubes, no biasing is required. I'm not sure if this is a rumor or not, can anyone clarify? I'm happy with the tone I'm getting with the stock power tubes, and would like to avoid the hassle of biasing if it's possible.

Re: Engl tubes
that is true but i recommend giving them a call (# on website) and talk to the dude. he won't be affaid to tell you that you might be better off going that rout. its also possible that he can match the rating with higher quality and sound at a cheaper price.
just give 'em a call and talk to them.
