its alla bout single rectifiers man. very simple amps.A pair of JJ's or svetlanas and these things can wail. i use a basic jb/sh-2n config and get a very iced earthy scooped mids sound. their controls are very sensitive ( as it is with most mesas) so you get a wide variety of tone from it (hell i am still experimenting with mine).
