Connecticut ehh? Hmmm... Interesting...

Wonder just how close that is to Huntington?

You read my mind. I spotted the item location when I frst saw it on fleabay. CT + rack mounted SLO = Scamsevere. Also since the seller's eBay ID is new, it really makes me think Vinny Youwillbescammedseverely. Now if it was previously owned by Danny Spitz, then we'd really be dead on old "speedmetal2000" there for sure...

Still, it seems possible... His other auctions show some car moldings or something I think. That seems a bit out of line for the KingVee though...

So THAT'S what happened to him!! I was off the board for awhile, when I came back he was gone, and I picked up that he had left a bad taste in people's mouth. I just left it alone...

looks like some of the bids were pulled now.... Vince did own two of these. I think I read one was a '93 from his Harmony Central review of the rack heads. I never had a problem with him but I guess a few of you did so...

            Re: Rack SLO on ebay.

An interesting story about the reason for the move from L.A. was due to an earthquake that caused damage to the shop. Bill Sundt told me they were in the process of rebuilding, Mike looked at property rates back home in Seattle and the decision was made to move instead of staying in California.

The best part about Soldano is absolutely nothing changed in terms of build quality, components, etc. upon the change. Some sellers appear to try and capitalize on the "California" built Soldanos as a PRS guy or San Dimas Charvel guy might when selling items. If anything, there is a more stable environment in Washington and certainly less stressful than L.A. what with riots, earthquakes, high property/rental and cost of living associated with the area.

I do have a question, were all the Rackmount SLO amps stamped? I can't remember others I've seen. All the heads are Sharpied. I was thinking they may have stamped these due to the metal chassis?

              Re: Rack SLO on ebay.

True. No quality difference at all. Good Question about the stamping. I think you are right about the metal chassis.

Also. I looked up HC reviews and 931015 is Vinces's old head. He also had a 94 (Which was owned by Dan Spitz). He listed the serial numbers in the review. He has a more recent review that he wrote and he states that he had to sell all his older Soldano stuff due to financial difficulties... So - I think maybe Vince sold this one to the whomever is selling it on ebay. I guess if you are really interested maybe a request to speak to the owner might clear things up. Not looking to start a shitstorm here about who likes or hates Vince. just looking to help someone looking for one find one at a fair price so far....

                Re: Rack SLO on ebay.

He may have claimed to have 2, but more than likely it was just the one. He claimed to have multiple instances of a lot of amps. When I dealt with him I kind of found out he would just use the same piece of gear in pics that were slightly different. He scored that rack mount SLO for a steal of a price from some guy in New Hampshire. Last I saw he was trying to trade that one off for a Marshall rig. Kind of funny since he bashed Marshall big time when he was on the JCF. I wouldn't deal with the guy. But that's experience talking.

Prospective buyers might also want to inquire if the "seller" ever borrowed Dave Linsk's laptop or if he has ever been a "guitar tech" for Dave Mustaine.

The only way I'd even consider buying this one would be in person, after I had a chance to test it out. Since the rackmounted SLOs are so limited, and the seller is in CT, I'm almost positive that if it's not Scamsevere selling it (or a friend of his) he most likely onwed this one at some point. Either way, I'd be very cautious.

                    Re: Rack SLO on ebay.

It is his/or was his. The serial number is the same. I emailed the guy and got it and it is the same as he posted on the HC threads. I do believe he did have 2 of these though because when I got mine we emailed back and forth and he sent me pics of both. Anyway. Like I said. Don't want it to turn into a shitstorm about VS. I never did a deal with him and I know a few of you did and ot good things and bad so.... Just confirming that the serial number matches the one VS had or is trying to sell through someone or whatever now. That's all.

No shitstorm intended, but Vince Scamsevere has scammed/screwed numerous people on highend gear deals. This is a fact. Any prospective buyers should really guard their rear orifice when dealing with the one-eyed ass pirate.

I don't think he has any of those left. lol

Firebird did he have both side by side in the pics? Or were they each in their own individual pic? Not trying to start ****. He used to like to claim he had multiples and would share pics with me. Never seen a piece of gear he claimed to have more than one of in the same pic. It always looked like the same piece arranged differently.

I'd love to have the amp myself. To much wattage for me to crank in my little room, that's a psuedo studio, though. So it would be a waste.

I know your not protecting him. If its him I doubt he'll shaft anyone. He's been trying to keep out of site for a while and let things simmer down. He needs to build the trust back up with some new people. Ironically the numb nuts called me like three seconds after the Red Sox won the world series. I guess he figured since I was such a big Sox fan that I would be over joyed enough to even speak with him. lol Didn't work out the way he wanted it to though. It's a sweat amp. If it is him he stands to make a grand on what he paid. He got it for 1600.

I sold Vince a rackmount SLO serial # 931014 to fund a Bogner Ecstacy Classic. I sold it for $1700 which was more than I paid for it.
