The Daddies up the street from me has a brand new Peavey triple X 40 watt 1-12"" combo for $399.00 (Peavey has a new model to replace this) so Daddies is selling them for their cost. I haven't had a chance to try it yet , any opinions on this. I play mostly old school metal (VH ,Ratt, Satriani, Malmsteen etc) I want something that sounds real good but no t concert volume loud. Are these any good?

i dont know about the combos but all the triple x's ive heard sounded pretty good -

I have the 2-12 Combo and love it. I think you would be happy with sounds you can get from it. My 2-12 is almost too loud for the house. I would think you could get some nice volume out of the 40 watt and be plenty happy.http://www.jacknapalm.com/Comment

I had the head, and it rocked at bedroom levels as well as cranked....I think the combos got some kind of award in guitar player magazine a buncha months ago, check out the peavey site, I think there is a link to the article...Comment
