If you don't need the 120-watt version, someone just got a 40-watt Triple XXX combo at GC for $399. It is the older version so GC is moving them at cost, he said. I guess a used head is probably $600 or $700 for the 120-watt
head.

i don't know about price, but i recently engineered a recording session where the guitarist used the XXL half stack and it sound great. i was impressed that it was solid state. man, i swear that if i already didn't have a ton of tube gear this SS peavey stuff would more than satisfy me...wow, and to think of the thousands of dollars i would have saved also!!

just straight into the XXL

I've been watching the 100 watt heads on eBay and you should be able to get one for $350-400.

I think so...
I got mine for 650 EURO here in Germany.
Which was a pretty good deal, street price last year was almost 900 EURO here.

I really like it too!

MF usually has rock bottom prices for new gear, and they want $599 for the head.

I've seen the heads go on Ebay all day for about $350. Sometimes less. It's really a pretty cool amp. I was thinking about getting the combo for awhile.

That 40 watt version is no longer that cheap, it is back up in the 800 dollar range.

Used it would be. I just watched another one go for $350 last week on eBay. Are you looking for new or used? New is $599.

I paid 1050 for a new half stack. XXL head, Triple XXX cab.
This was back in '03.. April.

Sweet amp! I don't use any effects on it except a 7-band EQ in the FX loop.
Sounds killer with the Dimebucker! I haven't tried it with my Kellystar yet since I'm still in Japan, hehe.
