Question about Peavey Triple-X combo.....

I have the Triple-X combo and had a question about the 2X12 cab that peavey also makes. How is this different than having a Triple-X half stck and head set up. Also, this may sound dumb, but by adding the 212 cab to my 212combo, how will the sound differ? Is it louder + clear? More punch? Also, if I do add the cab, I'm guessing thats when I have to flick the resistance switch in the back??

Usually most guys think that having a head and closed back 4x12 makes the sound a lot tighter and more focused. Having open backed 2x12s gives it a more open, airier sound. Closed back 2x12s will help tighten it up, but there's not really a substitute for a good 4x12.
