The only EL34 tubes I really liked were the big bottle 6CA7`s. That being said, give me a high gain 6L6 amp anyday over a british sounding EL34 amp. Jack.

I like them both. They each have their strong points, IMO. That's why I've got the SimuClass version of the Mesa Mark III.
