Yes the pot layout is different but it's easy to understand why. Boss uses dual concentric pots in the original and those are expensive so Behringer just uses 2 instead of one dual concentric.

Just imagine every company would act like Behringer. There would be 1 guitar, 1 amp and one distortion pedal and thousands of replica. Honestly no matter what you think about Behringer but this is as low as it gets (and no i am not talking about the price here [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] )

It is the american way-make a similar item for less money and somewhat comparable quality, and people will buy it. Is there really a huge difference between a McDOnald's cheeseburger and a BK cheeseburger? Not really. You can make a huge juicy fantastic burger at home that is ten times better, but it will cost you more than 99 cents. What's a GE-7 go for these days? 70-80 bucks? The behringer one will probably be 35-40 bucks. Given the choice between the boss pedal, or the behringer pedal, a few sets of new strings, and a DVD for the same price.....I'll take the latter. How many people on this board have bought an AGILE or TOKAI or ORVILLE LP copy for a few hundred rather than a GIBSON for a few grand? I see nothing wrong with it, as long as it is a decent quality product.

The wrong thing about this is that it puts the company doing the research about the product in a tight spot.
Some time ago Mackie nearly went bankrupt and Behringer surely got a fair share of responsibility about that.
If everyone would only clone there simply wouldn't be anybody doing new stuff. It wouldn't be rewarding paying engineers to design stuff when somebody rips your product off, let it assemble in china and sells for below the half price.
Research and development simply costs much money. And the companies need to get the money back to invest it again.
Sure as a customer it's cool but like i said, if everybody done this there wouldn't be anything new.
