I just got my bias probe tool from SRS, and I'm going to bias the Randall this weekend. I've read quite a bit of stuff on using these things, but I need to clarify something here.
1) I need to know the plate voltage of my amp first and foremost. Do I have to measure this at every tube?
2) Once I know the plate voltage, I plug it into the formula:
(MAX PLATE DISS. X 500)/PLATE VOLTAGE = METER READING
At this point I use 20-22 watts for max plate dissipation (6L6GC tubes) and plug in the plate voltage reading. So my question is, my result is what the meter reading should be, and I should make adjustments to match this current?
