No one heard of it until Saturday afternoon at NAMM... It was seriously under wraps the whole show none of the Bogner sales guys even knew what was going to be unveiled...

The only player I can imagine is that guy from Orgy... IF he is even playing anymore

Thanks Pete ..I think I will contact Bogner...why not. I just assumed it had to be modded and I didn't really want to go there. I just want an amp that is right there ..on it's own..the Uber is almost that until I crank it up to snuff.

Yeah I know what you mean. I bought my Marshall set up about ten years ago and it just became a part of me I guess..I'm so used to it..I know what its going to sound like everyday and is cool enough to do what I do...play.

I never have to dial in a sound ...it's all dialed just plug in and play ..instead of wasting time tweaking until blue and frustrated..The Marshall never did that to me...not like all the amps I had prior..

The Vetta sounds like a very practical choice and seems versatile..and I like the fact that it has everthying you need in a single grab and go unit..I liked what I heard ...I would like to play it some more..I'm just so attached to the Marshall..it's not the best thing I'm sure...but it is consistant and very good IMO.

and ONE great tube anp...hey Tetsuo ..you don't like the Engl ..the only one I spoke to that had both the Engl and the Uber was Jack Frost...he loved his Engl but he's more partial to his Uber , he's said its heavier...at the time when I talked to him anyway...who knows now..we change our minds sometimes.

Jon Schaffer briefly demanded that he loves the Uber much more than his Larry...he used to run a BBE in that Larry..a BBE sounds like crap in the Uber...yeah I tried it. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

No I love my Engl Bill... Damn I was tlaking to Jack Saturday I wish I knew I woulda asked him... Demoing the Uber it was all I wanted. the Powerball has a better clean and overdriven sound and really has just as a brutal sound as the Uber. I just like a little more presence in my attack which the Uber had and the Uber had a special feature from heavy riffing to soloing you could get great tone without boost or any changes... The elad tone in the Powerball is it's only weakness actually. Not that it is bad.

that being said the Bogner was an open booth with no soundroom and you couldn't really crank the amps. Man I wish I knew I woulda loved to pick Jack's brain on his thoughts. both are damn fine amps though no doubt

The 360 Synergy is Reinhold's new project along with another builder. It's 50W with 2 EL34s. Didn't get a chance to hear it, but it looked more like a big tinker-toy than an amp. List price is around $10,000 (yes $10K).

Yeah from what I heard from the Powerball it sounded pretty good..it has 6l6s so I may prefer the Engle...I do love the Uber ..my only discontent with it is when I really turn it up...the EL34 seem to clean up and color the whole sound to a very midrangy honk..to my ears..some people like that...I don't.

I am going to check with Bogner to see what they say about me converting it over to take KT88s or 6L6s..they seem very stern about the exact set of tubes that are already in it..and insist of running JJs exclusively..I dunno..

Bill is right about not having to tweak very much to get a good tone. At least on the Ecstasy I have, even with all the options on the 101B the tone is right there at your fingertips. The amp still amazes me and I have had a few months now.

The Engl is an awesome amp no doubt.... but as Shawn and you have said with the Bogner it is all right there and with the Engl I just am not getting the Lead tone that I ddi from the Bogners... Not that it was a bad tone mind you that I was getting... Just the Bogner was killer. Low volumes though. I would be interested in what Jack says if you get a chance to ask him

The Uber has more presence than the PB? Do you mean overall frequency responce or just in the attack envelope? From all the clips the PB seems like a brighter amp than the Uber.

The clips on the Bogner site are terrible IMO. I play pretty bright and the uber was brighter than my powerball which I think has to do with the EL34's compared to the 6L6 in the PB. That being said I now that the Powerball was voiced for more of an upper mid sound whereas the Uber is voiced for the lower mid. The Uber seemed like it would cut better and hwas more in your face and the PB is a little more refined and huge...

The Classic is a great Blues and Rock amp but it is modded to be nmore open and Full... I like a tighter sound... If you are a Blues or rock guy the classic is perfect but if you like Metal a Standard is the way IMO
