Yeah, I'm wondering about the sound myself. I assume it would be a hot-rodded, high gain sound since Mike Soldano is involved with it, but then again we are talking about Gibson, so who knows?

[/ QUOTE ]

This is taken from the soldano amp forum, looks like it is a over priced slo in a gibson shell.

Hmmm...looks cool, but seems like a silly choice at that price point. I have to agree that I can't see anyone buying that over a standard SLO at a big discount. I think the cosmetics really work, though.

I think if you are rich and prefer to see the gibson name on anything you really wont care, however they could sell alot more just by making them a 3000 dollar amp, i am sure they are probaly only getting charged a certain amount from soldano.

I think it looks cool, but I'd rather by the Soldano version and build my own custom cab - flame front would be cool in purple burst. The Gibson is definitely overpriced.

Is this for real?
Amp looks pretty cool for new look but "by Soldano" kills it.
Instead of that location, they should have put that"By Soldano" on the control panel.

It would have been a better effect if the Gold Top LP was actually in the same shot under the same light.

I was thinking the exact same thing. "By Soldano" takes away the classiness and authentic look.

Personally I think its the Gibson logo that takes away from the classiness. It should just say Soldano.

I think of Soldano as cool, not classy. I wouldn't want Soldano to be classy.

I guess I just like seeing a company like Soldano sticking to their small shop roots. It's becoming a thing of the past unfortunately.

I believe this is not the first time they have done this.
Soldano did with Yamaha more than a decade ago.
And I believe there was another brand I can't remember the name.

They designed a few Yamaha's. They didn't do the manufacturing though. Yamaha is probably the company that manufactured the Japanese SLO60 and sp77 though. Not sure. Some people love those and some hate them. I guess they dropped the line because the quality wasn't up to the standards that Mike Soldano wanted in his products. All I know is that if I call Soldano I get an actual person on the end of the phone line. If I call Fender or Gibson or Marshall. Well you know what you get there.

Gotta love smaller companies.
Bogner is the same thing.
I used to bring my amp to their place and have them take a look and modify.

And like you mentioned the other night. Bill Suhr. That guy is top notch also. I haven't dealt with Bogner. But both Soldano and Suhr have taken their time to help me out with gear I had bought used. Hell Bill doesn't even work at CAE anymore and I got more info from him about the 3+ I had and mods I could do than I did when I called CAE about it.

Oh yea! I wouldlove to have a modified Marshall done by him.
That would be GREAT!
