A CAE 3+. The Soldano sp77 is at it's upper limits and sounds muddy when trying to push it to hit Megadeth and Metallica type tones.

MP1's have been going around 125-150. MP2's around 200-275.00. I use an MP1 and a MP1 classic in my rack. I think it does the 80's thing pretty well and they are fairly easy to edit. Other considerations are a Digitech 2102 or a 2112 or a Rocktron VooDu valve. I also like the Boss GX700 for a non tube unit. If you have a G-major tho.. the carvin may be your thing too as most these other units save for the ADA and Soldano have 24bit effects.
