• Boss CS-3 as a booster/compressor sounds amazing?

I jack up the level on the compressor, in front of my overdriven preamp, and I'm having trouble believing it sounds THIS good without a catch. This is better than any other pedals as a booster that I have tried.

Not only that, When I switch to the clean channel of the preamp I get a great compressed, loud clean sound with no distortion at all. Wow...

Any body have experience with this, or know of a catch to this?

The only catch I know of is it can be a bit noisy on your high gain channels, but that is very easily solved with a BOSS NS-2 noise supressor, I use that with my CS-3 and it works beautifully. I know lots of players dont like to use compressors, but I love them!!! I use them all the time, on my rack rig, and on my Roadking. A must in my book. Glad you found that hidden treasure in the CS-3. Rock on my friend!!!
