yes.....I am a previous owner of both a Mesa MK IV,for a long time), and a VHT UL....I would describe the Ultra Lead as the perfect MK IV, basically what a MK IV wants to be. -

my grandmas tits are tighter than a mark IV. mine was a flabby piece of crap, especially at high gain levels playing chords. not that this answers your question. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]GEAR:
some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!
some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!
and finally....
i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!Comment

maybe, but what i really think is that my expectaions were so high that i was easily frustrated with it. i had a real hard time tweaking it out. at the time i had a few other amps that were more instant gratification. i couldn't seem to smooth out the bass with out having it being too bright.GEAR:

The MK IV's tightness was never an issue w/ me. I spent about two years with 2 of them and just grew tired of its coldness. I stand behind my statement that a UL is everything a MK IV wants to be....buy used.Comment
