I think it sounds great. It does smokin 70's arena rock as well as Brian's Red Special Queen sound.
As well it sounds pretty damn good going through one of my 4x12 Marshalls.

<font color="yellow">Ken....a cool little practice amp setup is the original POD modeler through a set of computer speakers

The older POD's are relatively cheap on E-Bay and you probably have an old set of computer speakers runnin round the house.

It is a a real basic setup, but offers enough flexibility of tones to work out nicely for a practice amp.

Sam,
That's similar to the setup I'm using now. I'm using my ZOOM PS1 thru a set of compy speakers.
I think I will be going for a VOX AD15T....looks great, and for the money..if I don't like it...I can dump it quickly.

Thanks for all the advice guys!! I'll let ya know what pans out!

Oh..and Chuck...I'm very familiar with Peavey Transtube stuff, but very killer also!

Agreed, the Bandit is a 1x12 and definitely not 8 watts...

Vox Brian May special 149 at the friend, smokin little amp!

I second that. This is such a bad ass sounding little amp. I couldn't believe how crunchy the sound was.

I did the dirty deed on an AD15T

All I can say is...for $179.00...HOLYFUCKSHIT!!!!

This is a LOT of amp for the money!! Built in EDITABLE effects that sound like much more expensive counterparts!
The amp models are great!! And it's a real tube amp to boot!

Anyone else consider buying one of these....definitely go for it! It packs a puch for 15 watts too!

Thanks to all who suggested this gem!....I'm quite happy with it!

Hows the modern gain sounds on the vox? I am thinking of the AD 30 or the cube 30. I have the cube 15 now and its a badass little practice amp.

Modern gain on the VOX?....amazing! Much more than you would actually use. It compresses nicely, and hasn't gotten muddy all the way to max!! The amp models (Hi and Low gain British/US Rectifer/etc...) are pretty on the money! Dude...if you are just thinking about buying one of these?..go ahead and do it. They are WELL worth it for what they offer in this little powerhouse!

Yea modern gain and vox don't usually go well together.I'm thinking of the 30 or 50.Is it closed or open in back?

Hmm, the website says "The Valve Reactor circuit uses a 12AX7 triode vacuum tube together with an actual low-wattage tube power amp circuit", what are they hiding?

Solid state circuit that is supposed to emulate the response and reaction of a tube output section driven by a 12ax7. Think Marshall Valvestate with more diversity.
