Does it have to be new? You might find a used Roland Cube 30 for that.

Nah....I've been scoping out the Bay Ron...Rolands don't do much for me either. I'm seeing a few (very few) decent looking amps for around that price point. I'm just wondering what members here would suggest (possibly out of experience) for that kind of change. Oh...and doesn't necessarily have to be new either.

Just ordered it tonight. Ive been searching the bay also for a cube 30 with no luck. This seemed like a decent deal and it got good reviews on Harmony central and the MF site too. If it sucks, I'll just send it back.

I second the AD15VT, although a little over $150. You can sometimes find returned/blems on the online retailers sites, and they are usually $139 or $149...

I played a little Vox amp that was like $69 or $79 at GC a few weeks ago, I think it sounded better than the other cheap amps in there. It was like a Pathfinder somethingorother.

The older POD's are relatively cheap on E-Bay and you probably have an old set of computer speakers runnin round the house.

It is a a real basic setup, but offers enough flexibility of tones to work out nicely for a practice amp.
