Yes...it has a 12AX7...and yes it's closed back.
To me, for this kind of money...that classifies as a tube amp!
For what it is..this thing KILLS the Marshall Valvestates (and I've owned a few VS's over the years too)!!
P I K A ....I didn't normally think of high gain with VOX either...but they are now trying to compete in the market now with all the high gain amps out there...I'd say they did a pretty good job with this little thing! Give one a try sometime!
