The vox and the legacy are like apples and oranges. The best way I can describe the legacy after having owned one is that its got "sizzle", great sounding amp. Covers just about any territory up to metal, and then I just used a Boss GE7 in the loop to shape a decent sound.
It has plenty of gain, just dont count on getting a modern metal sound with it.
Its definitely great value for the money and it has a distinctive voicing, combined with Vintage 30s in the combo = quality. Dont buy that "vais hidden feature" crap though, any quality tube amp will clean up when you roll back the volume on your guitar in the dirty channel.
