same amp...different name...Eddie lost the deal again I guess..

they are still going to make the wolfgang as well...but it won't be called wolfgang anymore

just like what Music Man did with their Axis guitars..

Dumb question, I know, but whats the difference between the 5150 and the 5150 II tone wise?

The orginal is a little more brutal. The 5150-2 has alot better clean. I currently own the 5150-2 and i love the amp!

. . . or more likely, Peavey lost the deal. I seriously doubt anyone sent EVH packing. Far more likely that he's calling the shots.

                    I heard Ed lost it..

this isn't the first time either..

he's seems to be a lost "drunken" puppy lately..and he seems to be more of a liabilty / pain in the ass...more than a money maker at this moment.

until...if until he gets his shit together..

5150 II has separate EQs for the Clean and Distorted channels.

                        That's not tone wise dude.

There's not a huge difference. You'd have to A/B them together to be able to tell I do believe. I've only ever heard the 5150. Most people recommend it over the 5150 II . So I imagine its a little bit better tone wise. According to the general guitar playing public at any rate.

                          Re: Peavy 6505

The original 5150 had a little more attack and bite to me. The 5150II had the gain, but it felt a little too restricted. Hell I can't really exaplain it better than that, but the original had a more "in your face" sound

[/ QUOTE ]I imagine Peavey'd had enough of Ed when he ruined their NAMM 2003 presentation with his slobbery drunken fiasco appearance. They spent a fortune to be the centerpiece of NAMM and he was an incoherent tool that blew it. At this point in history Peavey has a lot more credibility than Eddie Van Hasbeen.
