I just ordered a Krank REV from music123.com.when I get it I will let you guys know what the hype is about.shit or not shit that is the question.they have a 45 day no questions asked full refund/return and price match policy.so I figured why the hell not try it.I was ready to send my dsl 100 to Trace at voodoo for the standard mod and output transformer swap(had it 6 years now and am getting bored with it).But that is going to cost me about $600 without the cost of shipping it.So if I like the Krank Rev.I'll be ebaying the marshall or who knows maybe I'll keep it.I have heard alot of mixed reviews on the Krank some good, some bad,but I have no idea what kind of a sound each individual is looking for it seems that the people who like more a more 80's metal sound or rock sound do not think to highly of it.but I'm not one of those people so I guess I need to find out for my self.It just sucks not having a dealer within 100 mile of Me so I can't just go check one out in a store.and I ended up getting the head new in box for $1389+FREE SHIPPING instead of the normal $1599.I found a place in Cali selling NEW for $1399+free shipping so music123 beat them buy 10 bucks.so worse case I pay about 30 bucks return shipping and get my money back

Re: gonna try out a Krank?
I can't wait to hear your review, after all the bad stuff I've heard. I'm betting that they are not that bad. Hell, everyone used to slag the Crate Blue Voodoo, in fact some still do. I think it's a great sounding amp.

Re: gonna try out a Krank?
I played a Krank and didnt care much for it. I guess if you got a good price it would be worth it!
I was kinda impressed with the B52's. Plenty of gain and harmonics for a cheap amp and it sounded good. I am sure it has alot of Diode clipping distortion.
I am still currently using my Mesa's, plus peaveys and my one 30th anviersary marshall head, thinking about getting rid of my road king and getting JCM800.

many persons told me that they're overbassed and not as gainy as they should be - i'll check 'em perhaps in like 2 weeks.

That's honestly how I think they sound also. They do sound heavy and when I saw Dime playing through em, they did have that "Dime" chainsaw sound, but not near as much as the Randall's IMO. Just a lot of bass to cover it all up.

Re: gonna try out a Krank?
So Dime played through an Ashdown?
The new Guitar World shows a new Krank Dime sig amp called Krankistein.

Re: gonna try out a Krank?
The other guitarist in my band loves Krank's Chadwick model. I'd like to hear a Krank of any model with a decent set of tubes in it rather than the stock Sovteks.
The Chadwick is really quiet...no hiss or hum at moderate volumes.

Heh, beat me to it. Yeah, I really like the Chadwick. Last I saw, there was a custom combo at a Guitar Center around here. I was most impressed with how quiet it is, no hum, no hiss. Good string separation, lots of gain at higher levels without getting muddy. They wanted about $1300 for it and for the money it seemed like a good comparison to the Soldano combo they have for about half the price. Haven't heard the Revolution live yet, but I want to. Atilla, did Krank use the Sovteks? I thought they were using the Groove Tubes?

Re: gonna try out a Krank?
I also am not a fan of amps with EL34s...
That is one gripe I have with the Uber.."Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
