  • Any members able to fab a head to rack mount chass

Any list members able to fabricate something like the chassis in this auction? I've been looking for one of these forever! They are few and far between, I'd like to have a couple of them for future use.
Please take a peek at this auction you'll see what I'm talking about. [b]Ebay Link

So am I to understand you take the amp chassis out of the wooden cabinet it is in, and mount it in this rackmount unit instead?

I thought those kits were for taking the preamp chassis out of a combo amp so you could put it in a rack.
Not sure you could put a regular head in there, or even why you'd want to for that matter.

These were made to mount short head mark series amps in a rack. You could buy it that way from Mesa back in the day and possibly still can with a Mark 4. They still sell the adapter separately but it's way overpriced IMO.

What kind of head do you need to rack?
              750xl, 88LE, AT1, Roswell Pro, SG-X, 4 others...
Stilletto Duece 1/2 Stack, MkIII Mini-Stack, J-Station, 12 spaces of misc rack stuff, Sonar 4, Event 20/20, misc outboard stuff...

Why do I still want MORE?

Are you bidding on that one? I have one for my MKIII - they are heavy gauge steel - real solid. I'm pretty sure all the short-heads were the same chassis, head/combo/etc. That should work fine for you.

According to a guy named Mike I spoke to at Mesa you are correct all the short heads do share a common chassis.
I had planned to bid on this one. Do you want to sell yours?

I just slapped my Mk back into a combo - hadn't thought about getting rid of the rackmount. PM me an offer...
