I've been using Planet Waves and like them. I like the connectors with the compression ring on them. It makes the cables fit nice and snug.

Anyone else have the chance to A/B the Peaveys and Planet Waves? I want to know that I'm not crazy and/or tone-deaf. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] I mean, I have young ears so I still have all my hearing, but I can't hear a damn difference despite the 3x price difference! [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Well I will never buy Monster again. I had a 3' head/amp cable that sucked (sambencuda can testify to that, I threw it in with my Recto that I sold to him). I also have a 10' Monster cable that doesn't properly seat in the guitar input, I have to wiggle it around. I have two other 10' cables (a Fender and a Whirlwind) that work fine, so I don't even use the Monster one.

As far as future purchases, those George L cables sound interesting. I also want to check out the Planet Waves circuit breaker cable. I think it would be a great cable for live use when you need to change guitars. Has anyone here tried/used one.

I have Planet Waves, they are ok, but for main cord they suck, they don't last at all, but maybe it's just me.

jwoods - if your monsters were the 100 series, they are terrible. The 500 and 1000 series are really good.

i have tries them all,and monster cable studio pro 1000 is the best.expensive,but worth it if you have high end equipment.the better the equipment the more you will notice the difference.any inferior cables used with them will cause tone to suffer.use all sp1000 cables throughout.the cables are tough! and when my 21' cable started going out monster cable sent me a replacement before i sent them the bad cable!anybody not using these with high end equipment is suffering...

I use the Planet Waves Circuit Breaker cable and it works great.

You want the best cables? Go with Canare. Great price and better than any others mentioned here.

monsters only! I use them in my guitar rig, rack rig, and in every connection in my studio. They are more expensive but unlike others they dont color your sound and the true tone is revealed. They do just what a cable is supposed to do get the information to the destination without changing anything and last forever!

Monster cable is more expensive but their warranty is untouched by others, we sell them here. If anything ever happens to a Monster cable you can bring it into any Monster dealer, no receipt required, and get a brand new replacement with no questions asked. As long as you don't lose the cable, you're covered for life.

Mogami and Monster are all I use. I figure if I'm running amps, pedals and cabs that are high end I may as well keep the signal high end all the way through its path.

For the prices that monster charges they should replace them for free. Hell you should also get a free blowjob. The mark up on that crap is unreal. I talked to a person that worked for Monster and he said that they are all ad hypes. If you take the end off a Monster cable and look at the wire inside its very thin. Even if you compare the cheapest one to the 500 series ther is hardly a difference. I used it for years and then I switched to Canare which is about 1/2 the price and could not believe the tone difference. I have told 2 of my friends to get Canare and they also notice a tone difference. Hey just my opinion, but I will never use Monster again.

agreed.. everyone in the A/V realm would never touch Monster. Canare is a very popular brand, and what Im going to use for my parents' home theater.

ps. Monster is sue-happy. check out monster.com, and monsterhtpc.com ..they were sued by monster cables for name infringment or something stupid like that. monster.com has a link at the bottom of their site as part of the settlement.

i mainly use planet waves cables. I just stay away from the cheap guitar store brand cables, live wires and rapcos. they sound good enough, but they usually dont last. every single planet waves cable that ive purchased is still going strong, with no scratchy sounds or mis-connects.

I have a couple monster cables too, and they seem to do the job, and they are lasting, but i wouldnt buy em retail, too much jewish business going on there
