• some of my Pod XT patches here

Here are a few of my patches I put together on my Pod. My favorites are Budda Blues (budda with TS808, it cleans up great with your volume control) and Insane Boost, which is what I used on the satriani shalla bal clip.

You'll have to have your pod hooked up to a PC, obviously... I used the guitarport software, which you can use to archive/store your presets without having to join the pay site.

I don't think so - just the XT family, and I do have the fx junkie model pack (comes free with the XT Live). Sorry man.

Newc, go to http://www.customtone.com and get Line 6 Edit. It will let you transfer them to your POD 2.0.

From the FAQ on the site:

[ QUOTE ]
Will Line 6 Edit translate Tones between products?

It sure will! The Line 6 Edit software translates Tones between selected products. With it, Vetta II, HD147 and Flextone III can all load sounds originally made for PODxt or GuitarPort (with model substitutions made as needed), and POD 2.0 sounds can be loaded on all these products (with model substitutions made as needed). The dramatic sound differences between models mean that when model substitutions are made these tone translations won't necessarily give you the EXACT sound intended, but they get you started with a similar effect setup and amp/cab choice.

Cool info Tim! I wasn't aware of that. Try em out Newc, but if they suck more than usual don't blame me!

Dave - see what you think. That Budda patch is one of my faves... hope you like some of them.

<font color="aqua">ok, I ran into an early snag already. I never have problems downloading the tones from the tone transfer library online but for some reason, Pete, I can't use your tones. What I noticed was the extension is different. Mine are ".l6t" and the ones you gave me are ".gpt" Is there a work around for this? I have the version 2.00 for my XT, is it possible we're on different versions and that's the problem? Re: some of my Pod XT patches here

Mine are from guitar port... I don't think Line6 tone transfer is compatible with the XT Live. If you load guitar port software (free download) you can use it to load up my patches.

Thanks, Pete. I've been playing around with it for an hour or so. Not a dud in the bunch! You've got the touch with the AIR & EQ, & get great tones out of some amps & cabs that I had pretty much given up on. Subtle tweaks make a huge difference. The Budda is great, & I really like the Soldano Juice patch as well!

are these patches for direct recording or running through an amp?

direct recording... I don't use a pod XT for amp usage, that's what my Vetta is for.

Haven't tried it yet, but in reading that clip from the site, it appears that POD 2 sounds can be loaded onto the other stuff, but it doesn't expressly state that patches from those other units can load into a 2.0.

Hey Pete, can you pass on some tips on using the Vetta Juice compressor to liven up the models? I remember you and someone else posting that this can really kick the tone in to high gear on the XT's.
