A friend of mine had one and it broke within a couple weeks of use!!! This is not an isolated incident, because I've heard TERRIBLE things about that tuner from other people! Buyer beware!

I have a Strobostomp, a TU-2, a rack tuner, and a tuner in my G-Force. The FIRST one I would use for recording is the Strobostomp, and it's the LAST one I'd use live. It's so accurate that it takes a long time to get the guitar in tune, which is fine in the studio, but on stage under time constraints, I'll use something less accurate and quicker. It's not like anyone can tell the guitar is 10 cents out of tune when it's coming out of a 120db PA system... I have found that the TU-2 is NOT accurate enough to use in the studio. I've double tracked guitars that the TU-2 says are perfectly in tune and they are obviously not in tune with one another. The korg rack tuners are pretty good, but if they are in-line with your signal (i.e. between the guitar and amp) they can introduce a clicking sound into your signal. The one is the G-Force is spot on, and second only to the Strobostomp.

TU-2 is pretty much the industry standard for live use.

Boss TU-2 is very reliable and close enough live, but at home and doing intonation i use the boss tu-15

I have been using the Korg rack tuner for years and have never heard any of this clicking mentioned earlier in this thread. guitar-tuner-pedal board-5150

I have been using a Peterson VS-I for a number of years now. I bring it EVERYWHERE my guitar goes, and this includes gigs. I don't get the comment about it taking too long to tune with it. In fact, I find that tunning takes LESS time with the Peterson due to the fact that it works so well, there is very little if any going back and retuning. The peterson is the only tuner I have ever used that I can pass around to the rest of the band and not do a "audible" tuning check and have everybody dead on. If you haven't figured it out yet, I highly recomend the Peterson, you will not regret it IMO.

I'd go with the boss TU-2, or the newer Korg Pedal. I've heard a lot of horror stories about that fender pedal. I guess it has a lot of reliability issues and sucks a lot of tone.

Some people say the Korg responds faster then the TU-2 and it's a bit more precise, but I can't live without the stream mode on the Boss.

I use the TU-2 live and my Peterson V-SAM in the studio and doing repair work.

                        Re: stage tuner...

Korg DTR2 used to be on stage with me, but it's the one I do intonation with now at the shop.

Boss TU2 on stage. I honestly think I could pull off studio use with it, when it says a certain tuning, I checked it on my DTR2, and it's spot on.

Thing is this though, in the studio, I've got NO problem using the rack tuner

Also, I've got NONE of this noise mentioned.

                          I use a TU-2 live and a TU-12 when doing intonation.
