• What's a good 12" bass driver?

Anyone? Thinking of doing an amp conversion (i.e. turn my Atomic Reactor 112 into a bass amp if it doesn't sell). I realize bass is usually 8", 10" or 15". Would I be better off going with a 12" PA-rated (full range) speaker?

Bill, some dude local is selling the Carvin R1000, 4x10, 1x18 set for $800. I reckon that's a good deal considering I wouldn't have to pay for shipping. Waddaya think?

I actually want it dude...BUY IT if it is in nice shape

That IS THE AMP...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hell see if he'll take a smidge less...but that is a good price , if its in great shape..

I think that R1000 is their new series and they just discontinued the "Red Eye" stack..

I owned TWO Red Eye 4 10 , 1-18 stacks...and one older Pro Bass series with the same cab configuration....AMAZING speaker

I never blew a one...I blew EVERYTHING else including Hartke , Peavey , Ampegs..

Carvin used to stock their cabs with EV pro line Series long ago but lost the deal with EV...

so they design a very similair speaker for themselves...I've owned EV pro lines and Carvin is a very good knock off..for less than half the cost..

You can't blow an EV pro line or one of these Carvins..especially their 800 wt 18"...that is a monster...NO FARTING no matter how hard I pushed it..

Thanks Bill
I do have a Carvin VE-212 guitar cabinet with GS12s in it, so I'm familiar with their quality. That was my live cab when I had a band, and it has unbeatable clarity, even when the amp (RocPro1000 head) or ADA were fully saturated. I may get another one some day just to run them both in stereo

Looks like a winner to me

Or this one?

Ever try Carvin's folded horn subs? Looked kinda like they were trying to make a Bose Wave Radio system into a PA rig. I never saw or heard one in person, but the concept seemed interesting at the time.
