• Advice on Delay/Chorus for FX loop on Amp Head

I need a Multi-Effects unit for my El Diablo FX loops (Serial)
My only concerns are a reasonably clean signal path to avoid "Tone Suck" or too much "colouring". I also need to be able to store at least 4 presets. MIDI control would be great.

I don't need any distorion/od effects.. just time based delays and mods.

Oh yea, need to be under $500.00

So far I've looked at TC G-Major-- a good choice?

Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanx

The Soldano SLO has the same type of serial loop and problems with tone suck. Pedals will not work in that loop at all. All the posts I have read on the Soldano forum suggest that the G-Major works fine in the loop of an SLO. I would assume similar results would be found with your El Diablo. Just make sure you use the pro line level +4db with it and you should be fine.

We must increase the bust!
The bigger the better!
The tighter the sweater!
The boys are counting on us!

maybe think about rocktron products as well, such as the intellifex

Yeah the Intellifex or the Replifex are great choices. With the Replifex, you might be able to use it, for switching your amps channels as well using a MIDI footswitch kinda like the G-Major. Although for delays, the Intellifex is probably your best bet between the two.

Currently I'm running a Roland RSP 550 (Very cool Chorus/Modulation and delay) and a Lexicon MPX 500 (Reverbs, chorus , delay) both units can be had for under $200 each. I'm also running them in Parallel with a mixer.

G-Major is an excellent choice. I've used them and prefer them to my Intellifex. I've been shopping them for some time now, just been too broke lately to drop 4 bills on one. I missed a used one a JCF member offered me a bit ago and regret it very much.

I use the Intellifex for now, and yeah it's durable and cool for the money as they can be had cheap, under $200 used and my friend just got one for $125. But truly want a G-Major as they sound better and do a lot more.

G-Majors do hold their value used a lot better, usually over $350 and new ones were $450 recently down to $400

The Intellifex has one of the best choruses round for a cheap rack piece though.

One bummer about the intellifex is that it takes forever to make a small adjustment... the 8 voice chorus should be called the 8 day to dial it in chorus They sound great for the money though.
