Engl Savage 120 for $900 a good deal?

I found someone selling a Engl savage 120 locally,he wants 900 bucks,reason selling it so cheap is it's missing the back panal and the head is goign to be needing new tubes.What do you guys think?How much do savage's normally sell for and is this a good deal? thanks! I have a powerball and this would compliment perfectly.

Well Engl NOS tubes aren't that cheap...and if the back panel bothers you then it's gonna cost a bit to get one from Engl. Also consider the overall condition of the amp...was it gigged with? How's the front plate, the tolex etc...

Dude, an Engl Savage 120 costs over 1800 EURO new here in GERMANY!
They are even more expensive in the states I think, and from what I've seen on ebay so far they do hold their value VERY well.

Just a reference for ya...I've seen a couple Savages (used) in great condition for around $1300-$1400...so depending on the condition of this one...find out the cost of new Engl tubes and take that into account as well as a bias job...also if you want a replacement rear panel too.

If i do end up buying it,could care less for the condition,it's been played.will need new tubes...prob would call bob@eurotubes or something.But yeah,bias job/tubes/rear panal is going to $$$

I sold mine without footswitch for $950 or $1000 in mint shape with original Engl tubes.
I don't remember but it was 2years ago on JCF.

So yea, $900 is a great deal and if it comes with a footswitch, even great!
