how much they sound different. I know that XT Pro is better but is the done a lot different from XT?

no the tone is virtually the same...
The biggest difference is the Digital I/O and the XLR outs
that and the fact that is Rack Mount.
I have a XTpro in my recording studio, and a XT that I use to take places with me..
The sounds are almost identical... I say almost cause even though I cant hear a difference someone else may be able to...
