yeah i bought one from guitar center for the same price. Great little devices, I also just bought one off the board here with the pedal board and stand. What you hooking it up too? anyway make sure to read the hand book for the little tips, like holding the tap button and cranking the drive turns on the feature of boosting the gain. What did you end up hooking it up too?
OK ...I'll say this again and again...a 30 wt Line 6 Spider...it is awesome for 200 bucks ..new out the door.
I play my son's all the time...it is awesome for metal...or any other style for that matter..IMO
or if you can score a POD that cheap ...go for it..
but for a PRACTICE amp...I like the spider.

PS. My favorte model is the one that is suppose to be the slo (modern High Gain).

does everyone forget that the Modern High Gain is not the slo but the x88r. and that the hold tap + modern High gain is the slo 100. i guess no one reads the manuel all the way through.

I find all line 6 products good for what they are. The pod gives you more options and sounds, but if you dont have a stereo to plug into then you are screwed if you want to play and have other people listen, and that is where the spider is better.
