      try one of the roland cubes the line6 is more versatile but the cube is a great sounding little amp in my opinion

            Hey, not to hijack, but do you guys think the Roland Cube 30 is as good as a POD for direct recording. I mean tones/models, not necessarily cab simulation and effects.

              The Roland Cube and the Vox Valvetronix amps are GREAT sounding amps, but they cannot come anywhere near the POD for direct recording.

              Buy that Roland Cube in the classifieds for $200 and then buy (or save for) a used POD or V-amp.

              That Roland Cube really is a GREAT practice amp.
