I used to bring a ton of backup and spares of everything. Now I travel super light. 2 100w heads, 1 SS, 1 tube,2 2 x 12 cabinets, a few extra cords for guitar, speaker and power, 2 guitars,a flashlight an extra set of strings, 2 guitar stands and my Boss GT-6. It all fits easily in my Nissan Sentra.

Compared to what I used to bring... YES.

That's about like I was when I did blues jams and minor gigs: 1 guitar, 1 combo amp, two cables, one wah pedal, and a couple of picks in my pocket. Of course, I was playing a non-trem guitar, so I could still carry on with five strings if one broke--which never happened to me. It's mostly the "Floyd Factor" that makes you have to carry all the strings and hardware. Better, I suppose, to just have a spare guitar. As far as fixing an ailing amp during a gig, well that one's beyond me...

You guys make me feel like a rube. All I bring is 3 guitars, 5150 head, Crate cab and a pedal board. No amp fuses, tubes, wires etc. Guess if it goes down, I'll go down in flames.

I almost had gigs ruined for the dumbest things.
One time the battery in my EMG equipt guitar died. I didn't have another battery and there was no way to get one at the time.
One time a fuse went in my Hiwatt head. I had to wrap the blown fuse with aluminum foil from a Wendys hamburger and hope that my amp didn't go up in flames.

I once popped a foil wrapped Wendy's hamburger in the microwave.

That DID go up in flames
