Hi guys, hope you can help. I have a Crate Blue Voodoo 120 head, and within the last 2 weeks it has started to sound "staticy" on the clean channel. I can't hear it on the 2nd channel. It sounds kinda like "background static" it's hard to explain. At first I thought it might be a bad cable, but it doesn't seem to be (replaced them) I do have a Digidelay and DEP-16 in the effects loop. BTW, I know nothing about amps and the repair/maintenance of them.

Re: Amp makes \"static\" noises...
Take what ever is in the loop out. If the noise persists then try swapping out preamp tubes. That sorta thing can be caused by a bad ground somewhere or even a dirty tube pin. Really anything more than a tube or cord swap is generally beyond user servicable. Although guys who work on amps full time today all started about where you are now.
Good luck.
