I used a digitech RP-1 until it died, then I got an RP-2000 (it lived a long time!). I'm thinking about getting a PodXT Live though, so I may end up getting rid of the RP2000. I like having 4 patches, a clean with a bit of chorus, and a distorted lead sound with each of those two at both rhythm and solo volume. That always worked for me. A bit of overkill, but the big do it all pedals are price efficient usually.

I have an old Digitech RP-7 that has pretty much everything I like to use - chorus, delay, flange, intelligent harmonizer, reverse attack
(swell, for violin and backwards guitar effects a la Slow Gear) and a couple of te distortions are even okay if you have to go direct without an amp. Then I also have an Intellifex, a ART Xtreme (effects aren't adjustable but they are usable and it has great distortions and is extremely simple to use), and individual dstortions (Ross, BOSS DF-2, HM-2 and SD-1 overdrive), Rocktek and Ibanez delays, Ibanez compressor, Guyatone SV-2 (Slow Gear-type unit), Ibanez HD-1000 harmonics delay, Digitech IPS-33 harmonizer, and that's aout it I guess.

At home most of the time I just plug straight into my Peavey Triumph P.A.G. 50-watt 1x12" combo. It has 3 channels and more gain than need with no pedal. Live I would use either the RP-7, the Intellifex and the IPS-33, the Xtreme and the IPS33 or a bunch of pedals hooked together, depending on the type and size of gig. I have never hooked them all up as the noise and signal degradation would be, well, degrading!

In the studio, I use a bit of chorus and delay for my solos.

Live I use Guitar -> Sonic Maximizer -> Amp

All I use is a bit of reverb on the amp, depending on the size of the venue.

For rhythm I use a noise gate. For leads I add in a touch of delay.

I do have patches with flange, chorus, phaser, etc. that are used for bits here and there. I'd say 90% of the time though, it's just the gate.

For clean, I use chorus and a bit of delay. I used to use some 'verb, but I turned it off a few years ago.

NICE pedal board. Did you build that yourself or have it custom made? Also, do you have a huge noise problem with that many pedals or does the Boss NS-2 take care of it all?

Now that my band finally has a live bassist, I've been able to trim down my pedalboard a bit. Two different setups, with pedals for live and rackmount for recording...

I normally plug straight into the amp, sometimes I'd use a delay or flanger, but now that I've got this XT Live I might use a few more since they are at my disposal.

Some slight reverb and delay when I'm recording with my POD. Some slight reverb when it's through the amp(shit amp).

I have a small rack with a few pedals in the Rack Drawer that I can switch on and off with my Ibanez EPP 400 MIDI switcher. It's pretty cool because I can get any combo of pedals (up to 5) on or off with a MIDI pedal.
