  • Not for the faint of heart.

I have a Laney AOR 50 head that sounds great.

I have a (year) 1979 100 watt Marshall power and output tranny from a 2x12 combo (town and country 4140). I'm going to turn this combo amp into a stereo 18 watts per channel.

I'm tempted take the Marshall trannies and put them into the Laney, and use a quad of 6550's.

Killer amp of distruction? Or huge waste of time?

I have a DSL100 1/2 stack (Orange Crush special edition) so I'm not amp deprived. I also have a Laney AOR 50 combo, so I won't be totally without the stock AOR 50 sound (although I'd like to swap this for a lighter weight AOR 30 with 6V6's).
