Craigslist is the home of the biggest tire kickers known to man. A lot of the folks that buy stuff on craigslist turn around and sell the stuff on ebay or in their own shops. There is a dude in Seattle that works for some local store that is frequented by a lot of people daily and he buys up everything that is a deal on Craigslist and then puts it in his store and sells it to musicians for double or sometimes even triple. Some guy was posting stuff about every 3 days on Craigslist about it. Someone counter-offered me $500 for my Powerball on Craigslist. I responded with something to the extent of "I wasn't born yesterday. With an offer like that you're probably just trying to buy this so you could list it on ebay and make a quick buck." Guess what, I got no response!

The whole thing with "this offer is not meant to be an insult" is the equivilant of someone saying "I don't mean to be racist but..." or "not to be rude or anything..." Usually when someone says something like that they're going to go on to immediately say something racist, or insulting.

I think your price is a little steep but $100 for a Mesa shell is way too low. Mesa probably sells the shells for about the same price without a cover.

A few years ago when I was living in Phoenix a couple of Saudi college kids came by to look at a Mustang GT convertible that I'd advertised fairly cheaply as I was just trying to unload it quickly. It was July and they showed about 2PM so it was like 110 or so and we stood outside for like 2 hours while they tried and tried to haggle the already stupidly low price finally saying, "But you must bargain with us! In our culture bargaining is mandatory." To which I replied, "Fine. The price just went up $1000. Will you take the car now or would you like to try for $2000?"

You have to remember, new these cabs go for $800, so i doubt highly they sell a shell for $400, i would venture to say probaly around $500. But i posted the $400 with the intent of being haggled down to $300.

What were you asking for it loaded? I think removing the speakers makes it a harder sell. Mesa makes a pretty good 4x12 but because its so widely known, people know about them, what they go for new and there's also a lot of competition from people selling them.You can't go off what they go for new at GC. People will do a completed auction search and can see what they've been going for. I'd pay 500-575 for a used loaded one if i was looking, depending on shipping charges.

Thats the thing, if i go on ebay and sell it loaded between charges and shipping i would be losing my ass on it. I tried selling it locall loaded but the serious musicians seem not to check the want/sell ads. I figured i could always use the speakers, i have a older mesa 4x12 that is allready empty that i could throw them into. I like the smaller cabs, more for my style of music so there for i wouldnt mind keeping the speakers. But at this point if i am gonna lose to much on the cab i might as well just keep it!

yeah. I hear you, local sales are tough sometimes and big items like that on eBay are a bitch to ship. You coulld throw it on eBay and say local sale only or you could meet them with an hours radious from or something like that.
