Opps, got the emails, he ended the auction and will take $825, he still wants to ship it on tuesday, which is fine with me. I will give a full review, anyone want to buy a 2001 Mesa 3 Channel Dual Rec with roadcase, all new tubes? I am the original owner and know for sure it has never been gigged. All paper work, covers etc.. included.

very cool. congrats man! anything that rolls out of Scott Splawn's shop is a tone monster for sure! now all you need is a splawn 4x12 custom cab with matching tolex and you're set. i love my splawn 4x12, i swear it makes every amp sound 100 times better! it blows away my vintage '79 1960 lead marshall cab too!

I am not a big fan of the marshall cabs, i usually use my mesa cabs all the time!

you should give scott splawn a call and talk to him about cabs for that head. granted i know the mesa cabs will sound amazing with that head. matching cab and head voicings works out better Most of the time.

can't hurt to call him, he's pleasant to talk to about his amps.

Good luck and be careful since the seller doesn't have a feedback.
It always scares to deal with someone that doesn't even have a feedback plus this was done outside of E-bay auction.
Noone has mentioned above so I just wanted to add this.

I know what you mean, but two things of protection, first he put his telephone number in the auction, second i payed with my citibank visa that backs me up 100%. All i have to do is say i never received item and they instantly refund my money. And in that case the seller would have to prove that he shipped it and i received it etc.. And of course if he doesnt ship it, there will be no proof, so no worries on my part.

Yeah i know what you mean, i always make sure to pay via credit card for that reason. Also the guys pay pal account was confirmed and a verified member.

Good point. At least he lives close, so you can see if there is anything wrong before giving up any cash. Ebay is scary anyway.

So i get the amp, and of course it has issues. First thing i notice is i unwrap and there is a bag of extra fuses, then i look at the tubes and see there are two different kinds of KT88's, sovtek and JJ's. So i plug it in and no power, replace the fuses and it blows the main fuse instantly, not even with the standby switch on. I guess i now know why he wouldnt let me come try it out before i bought it. I just emailed him asking how he plans to fix it, if he doesnt i plan on contacting my credit card company to have them fight the charge.

Called the guy and he acted stupid, oh i tried it a month ago and it worked fine. Anyway he said to bring it to a amp tech and he will pay for repairs. Can you believe that shit, two amps in less then a month, this world sucks.

The guy I traded my VHT to for my Marshall is having trouble with it, too.
Told him the same thing: Take it to a good tech, show me the reciept, and it's coverd.

Send it to Splawn and have him fix it, and charge the seller the cost to fix + shipping...
