Volume drop

I have a '96 Fender Twin that recently had the power tubes replaced and a couple of the caps replaced (supply caps maybe?). Even before I brought it in, it would sometimes cut in volume on all channels. It would still sound alright, but I would have to turn it up. It still does this and will intermittently come back up to regular volume for a time. All the tubes seem fine. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong?

Try the preamp tubes...

Yeah, always suspect tubes first. Pre's are cheap enough to replace on a whim.

Someone else told me it might be the preamp tubes. I'll check them other than by sight. Any suggestions on which ones to check first? There are eight of them.
