I want a band-in-a-box device to: 1.) give me a (virtual) band to jam with; 2.) allow me to create backing tracks; and 3.) allow me to record original music. Please note that I have a Mac, so I can't use Cakewalk, etc. (I do have Garage Band, but I haven't been able to get anywhere with it).
Can anyone give me thoughts on the relative merits of a Digitech GNX4 ($500 new) vs. a Boss BR900CD ($700 new), besides the obvious (e.g., Digitech is foot controllable, Boss has a CD burner). I guess a Digitech GNX3 would be an option, too, but I understand the 4 offers better drum sounds, etc. Thanks!
