Re: bbe sonic maximizer?

Does the 422 or 422a go well with the 5150 combo too? I have a 5150 combo, and am awaiting arrival of a 422a as we speak....

Better than not having it!

I could get my hands on a cheap 462. Is it as well as the 422? Does it lack any features? As the number in the name is higher is guess it should be a little better than the 422, which seems to be a nice machine.

Do you guys think it will work fine with my setup? I use a Digitech 2101 with an ENGL 930/120 poweramp through 1960-cabs.

NO NO NO NO...no...462's a a total different animal...nothing BUT sizzle...the 422 are much better suited for guitar amps...much more warmer and "musical" sounding overall...BIG TIME

I had a 462...it was pure crap...I threw it out the window ...then peed on it..then I kicked it a couple of times...and shot it with my nine..15 times...then burned it!

well it got wha it deserved!

Hey Horns - I see that Cleveland Metal Zone link. You a Tribe fan? I'm an Indian's fan in Iowa. I get alot of crap - even when they kicked ass in the 90's. I got my OV jersey on today at the office. I miss Thome, Vizquel, Lofton, brothers Alomar, and even big dumb Albert Belle. We may be in the playoffs - wildcard. X fingers.
Nuff bball..

I tried a BBE at a store, not sure which one, I only played with it for 15 min through a Marshall. I didn't get the hoopla but I guess I was looking for instant gratification.

I agree, the 5150 cab is awesome. I played through our backup Marshall 1960a this past weekend. It farted and was flabby at times. Seems my VHT wants to destroy the Marshall but my 150 takes the lows and keeps highs crisp. My 5150 began to fall apart from lows 5 years ago, then I put a 3 inch deck screw in the middle of it's back, into the 2X2 support. No more fartz. I HATE the 5150 casters. I've replaced mine and now the hardware store replacements are getting stuck.

Re: bbe sonic maximizer?

Okay - stupid question: When I put the BBE in the effects loop of my 5150, shouldn't my "post" volume knobs still control the over all volume? I just bought a 422A, put it in the loop, and for some reason neither my "rhythm post" nor my "lead post" contol the volume now. HELP!!

Dude...ya did something wrong...

the BBE in the loop...should NOT affect the operation of the amp at all...just effect...the overall sound of the amp ..you should hear the only hear the difference just by hitting the in or out botton on the BBE...

Make sure..you just have it in the return and send...in the loop..and if you do...and it's doing that..maked sure the the cable are cool and tight..and the input and out put on both units are tight...sometime they wiggle loose a bit..

come back and let us know...you also have TWO channels on that BBE...maybe one side may not be working...try both channels one at a time..

I'll try it again later, but I tried something this morning - putting the 422A between my guitar and the amp input (instead of the loop). Interestingly enough, both A and B channels functioned properly. Yet when I put it in the loop, A doesn't work. I'm losing my mind.

I tried it again with different cables, and now channel A seems to work.... Should I be using intrument cables or speaker cables in the effects loop? Dumb question, but hey this is confusing me.
