Hah, we are almost the same ...
- Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro
- Behringer Mixer into M-Audio Delta 410 Soundcard
- Alesis 3630 Compressor
- Beatcraft Drum Software
- POD 2.0

I am really impressed with Beatcraft. I was so impressed i sold my Alesis SR-16 the day I downloaded Beatcraft. They also have it on sale right now for $19.99. You can't beat it, especially at that price.

Anyone ever try GarageBand? I've heard people rave about it and say they were tossing their PC based recording software.

Cubase SX 2.0
DFH for drums (kicks ass)
Roland D-20 (basically a midi controller)
M-audio Audiophile 2496 midi/audio interface
POD XT

On Runes advice, I have this same exact setup and I recommend it to anyone doing more than occasional recording. (Yes I recommend it for porn too

well, a friend of mine who has done pro audio for years is also a MAC nut, he loves garageband. Seems pretty user friendly from what he says. We'll be doing some tracks together soon so hopefully I'll be able to put up some clips.

http://www.tweakxp.com is a good place for info on how to get the most out of your windows xp installation....
also be sure you have at LEAST 512 Mb RAM for best results. (1GB or more preferrably)
Now if I can just get DFH working...how much RAM do you have sambencuda?

768 and I'm not having any problems with DFH. I was suprised. I thought I may have needed a little more to run it, but it's workin great. The only thing I'm not happy about is that I had to load the samples on my 100 meg hard drive that I have for recording only. I think it takes up 40 megs? I think I'm going to be lookng for a new machine soon.

I use:

Adobe Audition 1.5 (I have others like CWProAudio9, just prefer Adobe)

V-amp 2 (best 100 bucks ive ever spent)

Beatcraft - THE BEST VIRTUAL DRUM MACHINE EVER MADE. Import Drum kit from hell into it and you have all the drums you'll ever need in the most user friendly program i've ever used, hands down

Bass - in the market for a good cheap bass, if anyone knows/has one, let me know (would like to get the bass v-amp to use). Just need something to do some home recordings with.

Jackson Rhoads Professional EX
Charvel St
92 Gibson Les Paul Standard
92 Gibson Dove Acoustic

Windows Xp. Amd Athlon 64 3000+. 160 gigs of harddrive (2 80 gigers). I have 512 megs of memory and no problems what so ever. I have On-board sound on a gigabyte motherboard (I'll be upgrading the sound card soon.) And I use Memorex Digital headphones and Creative 3 piece speaker set.
