it wasn't that bad Bill, when I tweak some amp then I tend to play some nonsense too
anyway the tone was pretty tight, I hear some VH brown sound character too.

BTW. nice heavy pick attack, I like that.

Thanks E..that doesn't make me feel too bad...I play better believe me..But that take wasn't meant for anyting worthy taping...I was just getting a good level to record with.

So that is THE sound you hear on those four songs!

Thanks guys..

I was too embarassed to post that sloppy eruption thingy..

It wasn't meant to be "good" ..it was just to get a level..

I would've played something "better" for sure if I knew it was going to count.

But it does show the essense of all the is "raw" Uberschall..

Re: Finally heard an Uberschall live

Thanks for posting the clips Bill. Today I finally got to play an Uber. I was prepared for a worthless clean channel, but it does have a clean channel that is very usable. It isn't fender twin clean, but it is far from useless. However, the gain channel was more fun. One thing that struck me was that the tone controls on the gain channel didn't have as much effect was I was expecting. It seemed like the basic sound was set by the channel voicing and you could tweak it a little with the tone controls. But it sounded good at reasonable guitar store tryout volumes and even better as you kept cranking it

Re: Finally heard an Uberschall live

Hey what's up Iron Monkey..sure!!

Thats cool about the clean channel. I never use the clean channels at all. The cleanest I get is rolling back the guitars' volume ..it cleans up real smooth. Some amps kinda fizz out when you do that. Even with my uneducted ear for great clean tones , I thought the original 5150's clean channel was pretty ratty... Guess that's why they did the II series with it's own eq section.

As simple as the EQ layout of the amp appears. I was surprise how active and interactive the eq section actualy is. Pretty dramtaic really , from mud to very edgy and how scooped or midrangy you'd want to get.

I was messing with it alot today . I actualy got a pretty genuine old Marshall tone out of it. I rolled the gain back big time and it sounded like a darker JMP tone..even a brighter JCM 800 tone. It had that kind of defintion. I'm not used to hearing this head like that. I could actualy get a very fat AC / DC tone out of this that I never realized. Not that this does me much good , but it can go there.

I not much of a good judge on clean tones. I use one tone , full tilt , with just lead boost and that's it. I'm purely a shred hack..

I'm not running much effects. I run a G Major in the Bogner..strictly for delay , and the noise gate works great , and a tuner.

My main tone is with a smidge of delay , hardly noticeable. The lead boost is with a just a tad more delay to make it "sing" a bit more . My bro John set it up that way when I just got and its there since.

For a "brutal" sound the less FX you get away with the better IMO. Although I would like to tweak some Chuck Schuldiner harmonizing shit in there.

I'm noticing that ,Most people like EMGs, and John's geetar do sound good in my amp. But I do seem to like my Diamrzio's over the Duncans in the RR-1..maybe should go EMG in that one..I love my RR1 but it doesn't sound as lively...even with a fresh set of strings..

Re: Finally heard an Uberschall live

the G-Major in the loop .. the #1 program is the main rythm ..and the #2 patch is boosted with more volume and delay for leads...and that's it.
