3 Channel triple recto-Marshall 4x12, or 2 depending on the mood, some boss pedals, guitar.

Practice, line 6 spider 2 75 watter, Line 6PODXTLive (too bad it sucks live) into the computer.

XSSIVE..what's up with those Splawn cabs dude (?? loaded with)..are they worthy of the hype..compared to what I use Marshall 1960B ..or a Recto Cab..tell me without bias.

        [/ QUOTE ]

i'll be flat out honest here...so let's start simple.... i will NEVER play through another cab after owning a splawn! no kidding at all. as you can see in the pic i have a vintage marshall cab (1979 1960lead) from the years they used good wood and cared more about what they made and the splawn in terms of construction and more important sound blows it away. in my years of playing i have played through many many cabs from various marshalls to mesa, peavey, rivera, fender, diezel, bogner, vht, orange etc etc etc....you get the idea, i've pretty much tried it all. anyway, when i went cab shopping for something to go with the new engl head i gave myself NO budget at all so i went back and tried tons of cabs i had tried in the past, listened to clips, read reviews etc etc and i was blown away with the splawn cab. the construction is amazing (it's a tank made of high quality 13 ply 3/4" baltic birch all over!!) the sounds is just what i wanted nice fat bottom without ever getting muddy or flubby like some mesa cabs do. the mids aren't over pronounced like a marshall and the high end seems to be just perfect never harsh and never dull just the right amount of sparkle i guess you can call it. the speakers i went with are scott splawns choice of eminence 2 G12T75 clones and 2 governors in an X pattern. the only cab i played through that i though held its own against the splawn was a bogner but even then i felt the splawn was a much better cab. i'm not being bias b/c i own it, again, i went cab shopping with NO budget and gave everything a try i could. so anything was possible and the splawn did everything i wanted and more! like i said, it's the only cab i will play though now, i don't care what head i have at the time it will be on a splawn cab!!

Mike, thank you VERY much for that. I trust your opinion..you have heard them all before knowing what you liked. I know what's that's all about.

I want to get the most out of my Uber..a Uberkab be cool for the obvious reason but..I'll go with ever sounds BEST!

            Re: What\'s your #1 amp?

like i said, the only one that i liked as much (or close to as much i should say) as the splawn was a bogner cab that had similar speakers in it. so going with an ubercab to go with your head wouldn't be a bad idea at all if your into things matching but going with the splwan certainly wouldn't be a bad choice either IMO. IMO the best two cabs on the market now are splawn and bogner! if splawn didn't make cabs i'd be using bogner.

Hey Zeegs..how do you like those Celestions 85s man..

Zeegler and I are huge advocates of these speakers. Crisper high end than the 75s or V30s, and can handle any bottom end. The Peavey cab is almost the size of a Mesa Recto cab, too, and handles the bottom end nicely.

                  Re: What\'s your #1 amp?

The reason I was askin' I because I has a sweet peavey cab loaded with 80's and it my favorite cabd I ever had..The 80's have more of a warmer high end roll..still with well enough bite..but a HUGE bottom end!!

They were warmer and darker than the 75's..I think my bro John would love those speakers ...he's discontenet with the upper freqs of the 75s...he hears "white noise" in those freqs..and it freqs him out!

I rely on those ferqs for insane pinch harmonics , squeals , whammy shit and edge..it's the nature of the beast i guess.

John wants a Recto cab with the Celestion 90s in it, then - they sound almost identical to the 85s in my Peavey.

Exact;y man..we almost had a couple of those cabs lined up..fell by the way side tho...Rectos with 90's would suite him perfectly I'm sure..

My most played is my Peavey Classic 30, then it would be my Marshall JCM800ZW Zakk head with a Mesa Recto 2X12, then the Metaltronix M-1000 through the same cab.

I don't have a lot of room or time to play so the combo wins out most of the time.
