I will do a component by component comparison. I wouldn't be surprised if they were identical inside with only the case being different.

You don't expect to find any corner-cutting at the component level?

I can't wait to read the report / review!

Most all mass produced consumer grade electronics are junk. Of course there will be cost cutting on the component level, but do you really think there isn't on the Boss as well?

They are all pre order. I don't belive anyone has them in stock.

I thought the question was pretty clear, but what I was wondering is whether John expects to find that Behringer has cut corners off of Boss's design.

Re: New Behringer Boss pedal clones

I have a few of the Behringer pedals. The biggest difference is that the casing is made of plastic not metal like the Boss pedals. Also, you have to push two pins on the pedal button to lift the whole thing off to change batteries. I can forsee problems with that over time. A little cheesy, but they sound good for the money. There are a few of the pedals out, but most of them aren't out yet. I have an eq and a preamp booster.

Re: New Behringer Boss pedal clones

I'm sure they cut corners... probably will be kinda like the difference between the TS9 and TS5 Ibanez tube screamers. Same guts, much cheaper shell and construction on the TS5.

One thing that will be pretty cool if the switches and case are of ok quality is that these will make GREAT mod platforms.

Its not like Boss uses military grade components. Most of them are just generic and off the shelf. I expect to find maybe a thinner PC board. I will let you guys know when I get some. The EQ and the delay are supposed to be arriving next week.

bananas.com has some of them in stock, but most are ordered and are expected to arrive soon. Jack.

The only pedal I received so far is the EQ. I will be tearing it apart tonight. Stay tuned boys and girls.
