    Mojave amps

    I just tried one of these, and was pretty damn blown away. [img]/images/graemlins/eek.gif[/img]

    It didn't give me "80s metal gain", but damn if I wasn't playing my ass off just the same. Great low end, the controls give a really wide tonal change, and it was probably the warmest amp I've played in years. (if not THE warmest amp) It gave me big time VH 1 & 2 vibes. It was also completely out of my price range. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] But, if you're a tube guy, you gotta at least take your favorite geetar to whatever local dealer has one and give 'em a run.
    All I can say is "Damn!".

    They definitely get good reviews from people.

        I played one ay GC a month back, and I thought they were some of the coolest little amps I've ever plugged into. Lotsa vibe.

        you literally can get the tone from every rock album from the 60s and 70s out of that amp.

            I started that thread in honor of the Peacemaker that was lurking at my house...what an insane amp.

            Thw Scorpion that has taken its place is equally insane and a little more controlable in the volume dept. The tone is just to die for - it's the meanest 50 watter I've ever heard or played and does the grind thing little sooner than the PM. I just got a Fulltone OCD to run through it and it's a huge improvement over the Fulldrive.

            I will say that the 12 watt Coyote I played last month at Squid Music in California was shockingly cool - Realy, if I had played that one before the PM or the Scorpion I probably would've just bought it and been done with amps. I think the Scorpion is a better fit for me though. I may throw some Yellow Jackets in it to see how it does with EL84's.

              I have plaeyed the Scorpion and the tone was simply gorgeous and worth every penny. I had no idea that there wasw a 12 watter. I will be saving my pennies. I thought Savage had the best clean tones out there; until I played a Mojave.

                      but whoever is playing that certainly has alot to do what you are hearing.

                          really I'm serious..I don't know about those amps..now I gotta research and stuff..

                          I gotta say I had a Korean Soldano 60 I swore nailed the Unchained sound..but that Mojave SOB sounds spot on balls!
